As we continue to grow, we're looking for a dependable and motivated Team Lead Cleaner who can deliver exceptional cleaning services while helping lead cleaning teams in the field.
The Opportunity
The Team Lead Cleaner is a hands-on leadership position. You will work alongside other cleaners while helping ensure every Sharpen job meets our standards for quality, professionalism, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
This role is ideal for an experienced cleaner who is ready to take the next step into leadership.
You'll help coordinate teams on assigned jobs, inspect completed work, support newer cleaners, communicate issues to management, and make sure our clients receive the level of service they expect from Sharpen.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Service
- Perform residential and commercial cleaning services according to Sharpen standards and client requirements.
- Complete general cleaning tasks including kitchens, bathrooms, offices, common areas, floors, surfaces, and other assigned areas.
- Follow cleaning checklists, safety procedures, and job-specific instructions.
- Properly use cleaning products, supplies, and equipment.
- Help ensure jobs are completed efficiently and within scheduled service windows.
Team Leadership
- Serve as the on-site point person for assigned cleaning teams.
- Help cleaners understand their responsibilities and assigned areas.
- Lead by example by actively participating in cleaning work.
- Support the onboarding and field training of new cleaners.
- Provide respectful, constructive feedback when quality issues arise.
- Promote teamwork, professionalism, reliability, and accountability.
Quality Control
- Conduct final walkthroughs and quality checks before the team leaves a job site.
- Identify missed areas or service concerns and ensure they are corrected.
- Maintain Sharpen's cleaning and presentation standards.
- Report recurring quality, performance, supply, or operational issues to management.
Client Experience
- Represent Sharpen professionally at every client location.
- Communicate courteously with clients when appropriate.
- Escalate client concerns, special requests, complaints, or service issues to management.
- Help create a consistent experience that encourages repeat business, positive reviews, and client referrals.
What We're Looking For
Our ideal Team Lead Cleaner is someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, professional, and comfortable taking responsibility for the success of a cleaning job.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous professional residential or commercial cleaning experience.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, shift lead, or team lead experience required.
- MUST be able to pass a background check.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lead while also working alongside the team.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently and make reasonable decisions in the field.
- Professional and respectful demeanor with clients and coworkers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and growing small-business environment.
- Reliable transportation to assigned job locations strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to perform the physical responsibilities commonly associated with professional cleaning, including standing for extended periods, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, lifting supplies or equipment, and performing repetitive cleaning activities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Schedule
This is a part-time position with potential for full-time hours based on client bookings and business needs. Candidates should have reasonable scheduling flexibility, as cleaning assignments may occur during weekdays, evenings, and/or weekends depending on client demand.
Additional hours and leadership opportunities may become available as Sharpen's client base grows.
