Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in leasing, sales, or customer service, preferably within the real estate or property management industry.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with property management software and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Fair Housing laws and compliance.
- Familiarity with local real estate market trends and rental regulations.
- Certification as a Leasing Professional (e.g., NALP or similar).
- Multilingual abilities to serve a diverse tenant population.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and engage prospective tenants, providing detailed information about available rental units and community amenities.
- Conduct property tours and highlight key features to showcase the value of the rental offerings.
- Assist applicants in completing rental applications and explain lease terms and conditions clearly.
- Perform background and credit checks in compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of leasing activities, tenant communications, and occupancy status using property management software.
- Collaborate with property management and maintenance teams to ensure units are ready for occupancy.
- Follow up with prospective tenants to answer questions, address concerns, and encourage lease finalization.
- Stay informed about local rental market conditions and competitor offerings to effectively position the property.

The Leasing Consultant utilizes strong communication and interpersonal skills daily to build rapport with prospective tenants and understand their housing needs. Sales and negotiation skills are essential for effectively presenting rental options and closing leases. Organizational skills are applied to manage multiple inquiries, maintain accurate records, and coordinate with other departments to ensure unit readiness. Proficiency with property management software and basic computer applications supports efficient tracking of leasing activities and tenant information. Additionally, knowledge of Fair Housing laws and local rental regulations ensures compliance and fosters ethical leasing practices.
