Role Description The Armed Agent role at Gallantry is a full-time, on-site position based in Norfolk, VA. Armed Agents are responsible for maintaining a visible security presence, monitoring assigned areas, and responding to suspicious activity or security incidents in accordance with company policies and legal guidelines. Day-to-day tasks include patrolling facilities or designated zones, controlling access points, conducting security checks, and documenting observations and incidents in detailed reports. Armed Agents coordinate with clients, law enforcement, and internal teams as needed to protect people, property, and assets while maintaining a professional and calm demeanor. The role also involves adhering to strict safety protocols, participating in ongoing training, and ensuring all equipment, including firearms, is handled and stored in compliance with regulations.\n

- Demonstrated experience in security, law enforcement, or military settings, with proven ability to manage high-stress and potentially hazardous situations.
- Valid state-required armed security credentials or ability to obtain them, including firearm permits, background clearances, and completion of approved training programs.
- Strong situational awareness, risk assessment, and decision-making skills, with the capacity to de-escalate conflicts when possible and follow use-of-force guidelines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, visitors, and team members, including clear verbal reporting and accurate written incident documentation.
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods; lift and move moderate loads; and work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct, with a focus on client service and maintaining a respectful, inclusive environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional security certifications, military service, or relevant vocational training are beneficial.
- Familiarity with security technology such as surveillance systems, access control tools, radios, and incident reporting software is an advantage.
