Maintenance Technician - Level 2
Location: 200 Medical Park Bl Petersburg, VA
• Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite
• Assignment Length: Approximately 1 Month
• Potential for Extension: Yes

• Bill Rate: $27-29/HR on W2
Schedule
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30/4:00 PM
Work Environment
• Hospital and healthcare environment
• Strong focus on infection control procedures and maintaining clean work areas
• Candidates must be professional, courteous, and comfortable working around patients, visitors, and healthcare staff
• On-the-job training will be provided for facility-specific procedures
• New technician will initially be paired with experienced team members
Team Overview
• Hiring Manager plus 6 existing Maintenance Technicians
• This contractor will serve as the 7th technician on the team
• Collaborative team environment with support and training available
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
• Replace stained ceiling tiles
• Replace light bulbs and lighting components
• Hang signs, fixtures, and other items on walls
• Perform minor plumbing repairs
• Inspect exit lights and building safety equipment
• Assist with preventative maintenance activities
• Support HVAC maintenance and repairs as needed
• Complete general handyman and facility maintenance tasks
• Assist team members with larger maintenance projects when required
Licenses & Certifications
• Certifications are not required
• Trade-related certifications are considered a strong plus
Required Skills & Experience
• HVAC experience strongly preferred
• Plumbing experience preferred
• General maintenance and handyman experience
• Ability to safely use hand tools and basic maintenance equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work professionally in a healthcare setting
• Less emphasis on electrical experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous healthcare or hospital maintenance experience
• Trade school education
• HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience
• Well-rounded facilities maintenance background

Education Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Trade school education preferred
Experience Requirements

• 2nd Round: In-person interview
• Hiring decision to follow after interviews
Additional Notes
• Healthcare experience is highly preferred but not required.
• Hiring Manager is looking for someone with a strong maintenance technician or handyman background who can safely work in a hospital environment.
• HVAC experience is the most desirable technical skill for this opening.
• Candidates should be comfortable performing a wide variety of basic maintenance tasks rather than specializing in a single trade.
• Heavy-duty tasks are generally handled by existing team members, though this position may assist as needed.
• Professionalism and the ability to interact appropriately in patient-facing environments are critical to success in this role.
