CTG is seeking to fill a Semiconductor Hardware Engineer position for our client.

Location: Albany, NY

Overview

We’re looking for a hardware engineer with experience in semiconductor fab operations and manufacturing quality. In this role, you’ll help design, develop, test, and deliver hardware products using functional specifications and high-level design documents.

You’ll work across mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering to prepare components for system integration, resolve defects found during verification, and support reliable products in customer environments. You’ll also partner with internal teams and external suppliers on quality and manufacturing issues throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop hardware designs and components based on functional specifications and high-level design documents.

• Unit test components and prepare them for integration into complete systems.

• Investigate and resolve defects identified by the verification team during development.

• Test functional performance and reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS).

• Support customer environments by troubleshooting issues and contributing to end-to-end solutions.

• Work with teams across mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering to deliver quality systems that meet market needs.

• Partner with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and vendors to resolve product and manufacturing issues.

• Support corrective and preventive actions, quality audits, and the management of nonconforming materials (NCM).

• Conduct or support failure analysis (FA), product qualification, and manufacturing process qualification.

• Support inventory management, OEM quality assurance, and manufacturing quality activities.

• Help manage stop-ship actions, action processes for products (AAP), and off-specification materials.

Qualifications

• Experience in semiconductor technology, fab operations, or manufacturing quality.

• Experience developing, testing, or supporting hardware products.

• Knowledge of corrective and preventive actions, quality audits, nonconforming materials, and failure analysis.

• Familiarity with product and manufacturing process qualification.

• Ability to investigate technical issues and work with engineering teams, suppliers, and vendors to resolve them.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
