Hourly Rate: $19-$26 / hour, depending on experience (DOE)
Start Date: Immediate
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (or 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM), with 1-hour lunch. On-call availability may be required.
Overview:
Seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to maintain a commercial property in Traverse City. The role involves general upkeep of common areas, grounds keeping, and minor repairs to ensure a safe and functional environment for tenants and visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Grounds keeping: Mow lawns, maintain landscaping, and perform snow removal (no plowing; shoveling and salting as needed).
- Minor Repairs: Address basic electrical, HVAC, and plumbing issues (e.g., change common area lighting, inspect roof leaks via hatch, apply roofing glue).
- General Maintenance: Clean and maintain three corridors, blow debris off roofs, and change HVAC filters.
- Property Walkthroughs: Inspect parking lots and common areas, coordinating with snow plow contractors to ensure accessibility.
- Tenant Support: Respond to minor maintenance requests in common areas (tenants handle their own unit-specific issues).
- Equipment Use: Operate provided tractors and tools for landscaping and snow removal.
Requirements:
- General knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
- Experience in grounds keeping, landscaping, or snow removal.
- Basic hand tools required (specialty tools provided via Lowe’s/Menards account).
- Ability to work independently with common sense and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license required
