Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Hayward, CA 94541
Contract: 6 Months
Pay: $25/hr on W2
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Shift: Initially 8:30 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:30 PM; may transition to swing shift (approximately 11:00 AM–7:30 PM)
Overtime: Possible
Job Summary
Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing and facility equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facilities.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and maintenance requests.
- Repair or replace worn or damaged parts.
- Maintain HVAC, pumps, motors, compressors, chillers, freezers, and related systems.
- Read and interpret electrical/mechanical schematics, drawings, and P&IDs.
- Perform equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades.
- Document maintenance activities in CMMS/Maximo and follow GMP/GDP requirements.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and maintenance records.
- Follow all safety, EHS, PPE, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Support continuous improvement and production activities.
Required Skills
- 2–5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, equipment, or facilities.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of hand and power tools and preventive maintenance.
- Experience with PLCs, motors, drives, servos, sensors, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC, compressors, pumps, chillers, and facility systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&IDs.
- CMMS/Maximo experience is a plus.
- GMP/cGMP experience preferred.
- Basic Microsoft Office and computer skills.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, reach, and work around machinery.
- Comfortable working in cleanroom environments and wearing required PPE.
- Ability to work around noise, electrical equipment, moving machinery, chemicals, and other industrial hazards.
