Job Title: Low Voltage & Integrated Hardware Technician


Reports To: Field Supervisor
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt / Hourly

Position Summary
FlyLock Memphis is seeking an Access Control & Integrated Hardware Technician to install, service, troubleshoot, and document commercial access control, video surveillance, intercom, and electrified door hardware systems. This hands-on field role requires strong technical ability, professional communication, accurate documentation, and the ability to work independently with customers, contractors, sales staff, and other trades.

Key Responsibilities
Install, service, inspect, and troubleshoot commercial access control, video surveillance, intercom, and related low-voltage systems.
Install and troubleshoot readers, REX devices, door-position switches, power supplies, relays, electric strikes, electrified levers, maglocks, electrified exit devices, cameras, NVRs, PoE switches, and related equipment.
Pull, terminate, test, label, and document low-voltage cabling.
Program, test, and verify systems according to project requirements, manufacturer specifications, and company standards.
Read and interpret work orders, hardware schedules, door templates, wiring diagrams, and project documentation.
Perform access-control-related door work, including electric strikes, electrified hardware, door coring, power-transfer hinges, door loops, and related modifications.
Identify site conditions affecting safety, egress, door operation, system performance, or project scope, and escalate concerns before proceeding.
Communicate professionally with customers, answer basic system questions, and document service notes, photos, sign-offs, and punch-list items.
Identify add-ons, upsell opportunities, and out-of-scope work, and notify the Field Supervisor or sales staff before proceeding.

Required Qualifications
Current or previously held Certified Alarm Technician certification, alarm license, access control registration, CCTV registration, or similar low-voltage/security credential preferred. Expired credentials must be eligible for renewal or replacement.
Minimum of 5 years hands-on field experience in access control, video surveillance, low-voltage systems, electrified door hardware, locksmithing, or related skilled trades.
Experience with electric strikes, electrified exit devices, electrified levers, maglocks, REX devices, door-position switches, power supplies, and relays.
Basic understanding of IP networking, including PoE, switches, NVRs, IP addressing, and network-connected security devices.
Strong communication, customer-service, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
Valid drivers license with a clean, insurable driving record.
Ability to pass background check and drug screening requirements for security licensing and customer site access.

Helpful Experience
Experience with Mercury-based platforms (Avigilon, LenelS2, Gallagher), Avigilon Alta/Openpath, PDK, 2N, Kaba E-Plex, Alarm Lock, LTS, CDVI, biometric/mobile credentials, commercial locksmithing, door coring, and commercial door/frame work is helpful but not required.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently for work orders, safety instructions, manufacturer instructions, and customer communications. Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs.; maneuver heavier materials safely with assistance; kneel, crouch, stoop, reach, use hand tools, climb ladders, work above ground, and work indoors/outdoors in varying weather conditions.
