The Quality Technician performs hands-on inspection and measurement of production parts on the manufacturing floor, ensuring that all components meet specified tolerances and quality standards throughout the production run.

Responsibilities

  • Perform first run, in-process, and last run inspections on production parts directly on the manufacturing floor.
  • Measure parts using calipers, gauges, and other precision tools to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Read and interpret metric rulers and measurement specifications to ensure accurate dimensional checks.
  • Calculate tolerances and compare results against documented standards and drawings.
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain records in the established documentation system.
  • Communicate clearly with production personnel regarding quality issues, nonconformances, and inspection findings.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address quality concerns and help prevent recurring issues.
  • Follow established inspection procedures and quality control processes to support consistent product quality.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on inspection experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency using calipers, gauges, and other basic measurement tools.
  • Ability to read and use a metric ruler accurately.
  • Ability to calculate tolerances and interpret dimensional requirements.
  • Experience working with documentation systems to record inspection results.
  • Strong communication skills to discuss quality issues with production personnel.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when performing measurements and completing documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a quality-focused role within a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Familiarity with standard quality inspection procedures and best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on the production floor.

Work Environment

This role is primarily based on the manufacturing floor, where you will perform inspections on live production parts. The position involves close collaboration with production teams in a dynamic, shop-floor environment that requires attentiveness to safety and quality procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frankfort, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.25 - $20.25/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
