Job Description

We are seeking an experienced KUKA Robotic Programmer to support an automation modernization project involving the conversion and reprogramming of existing KUKA KRC4 robots to KRC5 controllers. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with KUKA robot programming, controller upgrades, troubleshooting, commissioning, and integrating new technology into existing robotic cells.

Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Reprogram and convert existing KUKA KRC4 robot systems to KRC5 platforms.
  • \n

  • Support both KRC5-1 and KRC5-2 controller configurations.
  • \n

  • Review existing KRC4 programs and modify them for compatibility with KRC5.
  • \n

  • Develop, modify, and optimize KUKA robot programs using KRL.
  • \n

  • Perform robot mastering, calibration, tool/base setup, and coordinate system configuration.
  • \n

  • Modify robot I/O, interlocks, safety signals, and communication interfaces as required.
  • \n

  • Integrate new technology and automation functionality into existing robotic cells.
  • \n

  • Troubleshoot robot programs, I/O, communication, and cell sequencing issues.
  • \n

  • Support robot startup, debugging, commissioning, and production launch activities.
  • \n

  • Validate robot motion, reachability, cycle time, and process functionality following controller conversion.
  • \n

  • Work closely with controls engineers, electricians, integrators, and manufacturing teams.
  • \n

  • Document program changes, controller upgrades, and troubleshooting activities.
  • \n

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with KUKA robotics.
  • \n

  • Experience programming KUKA KRC4 controllers.
  • \n

  • Experience with KUKA KRC5 controllers.
  • \n

  • Proven experience converting/upgrading KRC4 to KRC5.
  • \n

  • Experience with KRC5-1 and/or KRC5-2 systems.
  • \n

  • Strong knowledge of KUKA KRL programming.
  • \n

  • Experience with robot commissioning, debugging, and troubleshooting.
  • \n
