Job Description
A large healthcare technology and services organization is seeking a Vice President of QA and Automation to establish and lead an enterprise quality operating model across a complex pharmacy and medical environment.

This executive will own the strategy, governance, and measurable outcomes surrounding enterprise quality while partnering closely with Product, Technology, Operations, and external delivery partners. The mandate spans testing strategy, UAT and business validation, release readiness, defect management, quality engineering, automation, vendor performance, and continuous improvement.

This is a build-and-transform opportunity. The incoming leader will inherit an existing testing ecosystem but will have substantial latitude to determine how the organization, standards, governance, metrics, and vendor model should evolve.

Responsibilities

- Define and implement an enterprise quality and testing operating model across multiple products and delivery organizations.
- Establish quality standards, governance, metrics, and objective release-readiness criteria.
- Strengthen UAT, business validation, and end-to-end testing practices.
- Lead enterprise defect management, root-cause analysis, and defect-leakage reduction.
- Establish clear accountability and performance expectations for offshore and third-party testing partners.
- Build the strategy for quality engineering, test automation, and practical AI-enabled testing.
- Provide executives with an independent view of quality, readiness, and delivery risk.
- Develop a scalable quality organization capable of supporting continued platform growth and transformation.

Role Requirements
\n
\n

- Significant leadership experience within enterprise QA, software quality, or quality engineering.
- Demonstrated experience building or transforming a large-scale quality operating model.
- Strong knowledge of UAT, SIT, regression testing, release readiness, and defect management.
- Experience creating enterprise quality metrics and root-cause practices.
- Leadership of large vendor, partner, or offshore testing organizations.
- Ability to influence Product, Technology, and Operations executives without owning every delivery team directly.
- Healthcare technology experience, ideally involving pharmacy/PBM, claims, or health-plan environments.
- Experience applying automation and AI/ML concepts to software quality.
- Executive communication skills and demonstrated ability to translate quality problems into business impact.
- Ability to operate effectively in an environment where the target structure and roadmap still need to be defined.
