Job Description
This role focuses on corrective maintenance, project execution, and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment and processes on 2nd shift (2:30 PM–11:00 PM) and 3rd shift (10:30 PM–7:00 AM). You will apply your mechanical and electrical expertise to keep metal forming, welding, conveyor, and coating systems operating safely and efficiently, while interpreting schematics and performing a wide range of maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on metal forming equipment, including mechanical and hydraulic presses, to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Troubleshoot and repair automated resistive welding lines and MIG/MAG automated welding systems to minimize downtime and maintain product quality.
- Maintain and service roll forming systems to support consistent production output.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair overhead chain and roller conveyors to ensure smooth material handling throughout the facility.
- Perform maintenance on E-Coat and Top Coat painting systems to support consistent coating quality and equipment reliability.
- Work with hydraulic systems by inspecting, repairing, and replacing pumps, pressure regulators, cylinders, valves, and hose assemblies as needed.
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics to diagnose issues and implement effective repairs on hydraulic circuits and components.
- Handle pneumatic systems by inspecting, maintaining, and repairing valves and related components to support machine performance.
- Read and interpret pneumatic schematics to identify faults and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Conduct welding and metal fabrication using cutting torches, MIG welding, and arc welding to repair or fabricate machine parts and structures.
- Perform drilling, tapping, and general fabrication work to support maintenance projects and equipment modifications.
- Maintain and repair power transmission systems, including air clutches and brakes, gearboxes, and reducers, to ensure proper power delivery.
- Align couplings and assemble gears, sprockets, and chains to maintain efficient and reliable drive systems.
- Perform mechanical tasks such as bearing assembly and replacement to restore equipment functionality.
- Use precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges, to verify component dimensions and ensure accurate fits.
- Support electrical maintenance by working with motor controls, circuit protection devices, and appropriate wire sizing to maintain safe electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and replace relays, proximity sensors, photo eyes, and limit switches to restore automated equipment operation.
- Interpret electrical schematics to identify faults and perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute maintenance projects that improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment status to ensure effective shift-to-shift handoff and maintenance planning.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Industrial Maintenance Certificate (required).
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in corrective and preventive maintenance for industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics.
- Ability to read and interpret pneumatic schematics.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics for troubleshooting and repair.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, including presses, conveyors, and roll forming equipment.
- Hands-on experience with electrical systems, including motor controls, circuit protection, and 3-phase power.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting at a basic level to support equipment diagnostics.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including bearing assembly and power transmission maintenance.
- Proficiency in welding and metal fabrication, including MIG and arc welding and use of cutting torches.
- Experience with hydraulics, including pumps, pressure regulators, cylinders, valves, and hose assemblies.
- Experience with pneumatics, including valves and related components.
- Competence in using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative maintenance team.
- Strong focus on maintenance repair, mechanical troubleshooting, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Capability to support industrial maintenance repair activities across multiple types of equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience performing preventive maintenance programs on industrial machinery.
- Familiarity with automated resistive welding lines and MIG/MAG automated welding systems.
- Experience maintaining overhead chain and roller conveyors in a production environment.
- Exposure to E-Coat and Top Coat painting systems and their maintenance requirements.
- Knowledge of air clutches, brakes, gearboxes, reducers, gears, sprockets, and chain assemblies.
- Experience with industrial maintenance projects that involve fabrication, drilling, tapping, and equipment modification.
- Comfort working with 3-phase electrical systems and related safety practices.
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with production and maintenance teams.
- Organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple maintenance requests during a shift.

Work Environment
This position operates in a manufacturing facility and is scheduled for 2nd shift (2:30 PM–11:00 PM) and 3rd shift (10:30 PM–7:00 AM). You will work around metal forming equipment, automated welding lines, conveyors, and coating systems, frequently using tools such as precision measuring instruments, welding equipment, cutting torches, and standard mechanical and electrical hand tools. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with a strong emphasis on equipment uptime, safety, and adherence to established maintenance procedures. You will regularly move between different areas of the plant, work on both mechanical and electrical systems, and coordinate with other team members across shifts to ensure continuous and reliable operation of the facility.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $64376.00 - $74776.00/yr.
