Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Cloud Engineer to lead the design, development, deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of cloud infrastructure and application environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure, Infrastructure as Code, cloud automation, data pipelines, and cloud-native services.
This role will be responsible for researching, designing, developing, testing, and evaluating cloud systems while supporting integration with cloud service providers. The engineer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, secure, scalable, and efficient cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, maintenance, deployment, and monitoring of cloud infrastructure.
- Research, design, develop, test, and evaluate systems supporting cloud implementations and cloud service integrations.
- Administer, monitor, troubleshoot, and support cloud application environments and infrastructure.
- Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including planning, requirements, development, testing, quality assurance, and deployment.
- Architect and implement cloud infrastructure and data pipelines across AWS and Microsoft Azure following industry best practices.
- Establish and manage processes for moving software and infrastructure changes through the development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain monitoring and metric dashboards to track project performance and operational success.
- Design and enhance cloud environments, including infrastructure, storage layers, and database engines, based on business requirements.
- Perform root cause analysis of cloud infrastructure issues and provide recommendations for technical and operational improvements.
- Identify risks, evaluate alternative solutions, and ensure projects remain aligned with established goals.
- Lead and support technical projects while coordinating with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate effectively with application development, data, infrastructure, and other technical teams in a dynamic environment.
- Support continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure, automation, reliability, and performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative/technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering with proven experience working with AWS and/or Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Experience supporting cloud application environments and infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with both Linux and Windows environments.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
- Strong programming/scripting experience with Python and PySpark.
- Experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Experience performing root cause analysis for cloud infrastructure and application-related issues.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with experience leading technical projects.
- Experience working with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL.
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools such as AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, and Amazon EventBridge.
- Experience with AWS and Azure cloud services and platforms.
- Experience with AWS services including EC2, Bedrock, SageMaker, EMR, RDS, and Redshift.
- Strong experience with object-oriented programming and scripting languages such as Python and/or Java.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Physical Demands
- Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions in accordance with ADA and applicable federal, state, and local standards.
- This is primarily sedentary work, requiring the employee to sit or remain stationary for most of the workday, with occasional movement around the office for meetings and other activities.
