Job Description
A global financial services organization is seeking an AVP-level Security Engineer to join a lean Information Security engineering team in New York City. This individual will help engineer, automate, and strengthen technical security controls across a sophisticated enterprise environment.

The role will initially have a strong focus on security automation before expanding across cloud security, architecture, governance, and enterprise security tooling. The ideal candidate combines hands-on security engineering experience with strong Python scripting skills and an ability to solve security problems through automation.

Responsibilities:

- Build and maintain automation supporting security engineering processes.
- Develop Python scripts and integrations for security use cases.
- Support security architecture and implementation of technical controls.
- Help establish and maintain cloud security governance and controls.
- Integrate security capabilities with development and CI/CD workflows.
- Support enterprise security technologies across multiple control areas.
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of security engineering issues.
- Contribute to on-call coverage and broader security initiatives.

Role Requirements:

- 4-8 years of relevant security or cybersecurity engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on Python scripting skills.
- Experience implementing or engineering security controls.
- Understanding of security architecture principles.
- Experience securing public cloud environments.
- Knowledge of modern enterprise security tooling.
- Familiarity with source control and CI/CD processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a small engineering team.
- Ability to work primarily onsite in New York City.
