Custodial Workers

Job Description

The North Rockland (Haverstraw-Stony Point) Central School District is seeking candidates for the positions of Custodial Worker (Days) and Custodial Worker (Nights). These are full-time 12-month positions that include a regionally competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:

\n

\n
• Cleans and dusts surfaces such as furniture, blinds, window sills, etc.;

\n

• Maintains floors by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, waxing, stripping, and refinishing;

\n

• Washes windows, walls, tables, bathrooms, etc.;

\n

• Cleans light fixtures and replaces bulbs as needed;

\n

• Collects and disposes of trash and recyclables;

\n

• Moves furniture and equipment;

\n

• Loads and unloads delivery trucks and transports supplies to proper areas;

\n

• Assists in building maintenance work;

\n

• Refills soap, toilet paper, and paper towel dispensers;

\n

• Performs exterior maintenance such as mowing lawns, sweeping sidewalks, shoveling snow, etc.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; ability to read and communicate in English.

\n

\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: No formal education, training, or experience is required.
