Shoot Straight is looking for a Web Developer to support and improve our software systems and business processes. This is a varied role combining software development with operational and administrative responsibilities. Software development is a core component to this position, though role responsibilities may shift based on the needs of the business and seasonal demands. This role is full-time and onsite.
What You’ll Do:Web and Software Development:
- Develop, maintain, and improve ecommerce websites and business applications
- Build and modify web pages using CMS platforms and web technologies
- Contribute to the development of internal tools and processes
- Troubleshoot and debug issues across various applications and tech stacks
- Create and manage product listings across multiple sales channels
- Update website content, sales and promotions, and inventory data
- Assist with administrative processes and customer support
- Handson experience (academic or professional) developing software applications
- Working knowledge of:
- Web hosting and DNS
- Clientserver communication protocols
- Modern web application architecture (frontend, backend, APIs)
- Version control with Git
- Basic proficiency with Linux and command line usage
- Programming experience with any/all of the following or similar:
- Compiled languages (C#, Go)
- JavaScript frameworks (React, Svelte, Angular)
- Scripting languages (PHP, Python)
- Knowledge of or interest in firearms or the firearms industry
- Familiarity with business operations and process improvement strategies
- Experience managing relational DBMSs such as MySQL/MariaDB
- Experience implementing Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment strategies
- Experience with or willingness to learn:
- Modern ecommerce systems (BigCommerce, Shopify and WooCommerce)
- Best practices in UI/UX, security, responsive design, and software development
