Job Description
Senior Project Manager (Contract)
Location: Pasadena, CA (Hybrid)
Employment Type: 6 Months Contract
Pay Rate: $80-$85/hr on W2
Lead Enterprise Transformation Initiatives
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Project Manager to lead complex, high-impact technology programs within a fast-paced and highly regulated organization.
This role will oversee the delivery of strategic initiatives, including a Call Center modernization project with AI capabilities and the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform to replace a legacy financial system.
This is not a traditional oversight role. We are looking for a proactive leader who takes ownership of outcomes, anticipates challenges, removes roadblocks, and works alongside teams to ensure successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Program Leadership
- Lead enterprise-scale technology projects through the full project lifecycle, from planning through implementation and stabilization.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resource plans, risk registers, and stakeholder communications.
- Drive project execution, proactively identifying and resolving risks, issues, and dependencies.
Hands-On Delivery
- Facilitate requirements gathering, business process analysis, and solution design discussions.
- Support data migration, testing, user acceptance activities, training, and deployment planning.
- Step in when necessary to close gaps, solve problems, and keep projects on track.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for project delivery.
- Partner with executive leadership, business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and system integrators.
- Lead steering committee meetings, provide executive-level reporting, and manage vendor performance.
Governance & Financial Management
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and resource utilization.
- Ensure compliance with governance standards, procurement requirements, and organizational policies.
- Maintain clear documentation, risk management plans, and project controls.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of project management experience leading enterprise technology initiatives.
- Proven success delivering at least one full-lifecycle ERP implementation or Contact Center modernization project.
- Strong business analysis skills, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder facilitation.
- Experience managing large budgets, multiple workstreams, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Experience within government, public sector, financial services, or other highly regulated environments.
- ERP migration experience involving legacy financial systems and cloud-based ERP platforms.
- Experience implementing omnichannel contact center solutions, AI chatbots, CRM integrations, and customer service technologies.
PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, CBAP, SAFe, CSM, Prosci, ITIL, or related certifications.
