Job Description:

- Mainframe IMS Application DBA / IMS DBA Analyst
- The IMS Application DBA will manage and support IMS database environments in a high-availability enterprise environment.
- The role will focus on database design support, performance optimization, data integrity, backup and recovery, and database administration for mission-critical applications running on IBM z/OS.

Mandatory requirements include:
\n
- \n
- Minimum 7 years of DBA experience supporting IMS databases in a z/OS environment using Sysplexed Data Sharing.
- Strong knowledge of Full Function, Fast Path, and HALDB databases
- Experience with secondary indexing, logical relationships, sparsing routines using Assembler, replication, compression, and encryption.
- Experience with database performance and tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, physical database design and build, backup, and recovery.
- Strong IBM z/OS experience
- Hands-on experience as an IMS Application DBA supporting IMS DB.
- Experience with IMS utilities and database maintenance activities.
- Experience troubleshooting database abends, including Uxxx and S0Cxx errors.
- Experience resolving data corruption and data integrity issues
- Knowledge of JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, and REXX
- Experience with batch and online IMS environments, including IMS DB/DC.
- Experience with IMS Database Administration Utilities and BMC utility/monitoring tools or equivalent.
- Experience with IMS database types, including Full Function DB, Fast Path DB, and HALDB
- Experience with database definition, allocation, dataset management, REORGs, and space management.
- Knowledge of DBD, PSB, ACB libraries, and IMS Catalog
- Experience with Load/Unload, Reorganization, Image Copy, and recovery utilities such as DFSURGL0 and DFSUICP0.
- Experience performing Image Copy recovery and point-in-time recovery.
- Strong database performance and tuning experience.
- Willingness to work onsite three days per week.

Preferred experience:

- Experience integrating IMS with DB2, CICS, MQ, and distributed systems.
- Experience with OMEGAMON, MainView, or similar performance-monitoring tools.
- Exposure to IMS modernization, APIs, or z/OS Connect
- REXX or other scripting/automation experience
- Experience with large-scale IMS database migrations or consolidation.
- Experience with data replication or data integration solutions
- Experience in regulatory or compliance-driven environments, including SOX or PCI
- Experience with ISPW or ServiceNow
- Experience with Visio

Pay Range: $65/hr - $70/hr
\n
\n
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
