Property Management Associates (PMA) is looking for a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our growing team!
This is a great opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and likes being the person the team can count on. In this role, you’ll support multiple residential communities in Hawthorne, helping keep our properties safe, well-maintained, and looking their best for our residents.

About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll work across several of our residential communities, providing hands-on maintenance support where it is needed most. Every day can be a little different, making this a great position for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in solving problems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Completing a variety of general maintenance and repair work, including plumbing, electrical, drywall, appliance repair, and apartment make-readies
- Responding promptly to resident maintenance requests and completing work orders efficiently and professionally
- Performing routine property inspections and identifying maintenance needs before they become larger problems
- Preparing apartments for new residents and ensuring units are clean, functional, and move-in ready
- Managing maintenance inventory and ordering parts and supplies as needed
- Using good judgment to diagnose problems and determine the appropriate repair
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and professional work environment
- Working closely with Property Managers and the maintenance team to ensure properties are well cared for
- Providing support at different communities based on operational needs
What We're Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, energetic, organized, and takes pride in their work. The right person is comfortable working independently but also enjoys being part of a team.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- At least 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience, preferably in multifamily residential properties
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, appliances, and general apartment maintenance
- Experience with apartment turns/make-readies
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- The ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
- A high school diploma or GED
- A valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance
Physical Requirements
This position requires regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and other physical activity associated with property maintenance. Candidates must be able to lift and carry approximately 25–50 pounds and remain active for extended periods during the workday.
