Job Description

We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for maintaining and repairing HVAC systems and boilers. The role involves general plumbing, building repair, carpentry, and renovations. This position offers a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with opportunities for overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Work primarily on HVAC systems and boilers.
  • Perform general plumbing, building repair, carpentry, and renovations.
  • May be on call for snow removal during the winter season.
  • Troubleshoot and repair various facility issues using hand and power tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints for maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and general facility maintenance tasks.
  • Occasionally assist with projects at different locations, including the DC down the street or the Wisconsin location.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in facility maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience with HVAC systems and boiler maintenance.
  • Basic plumbing and carpentry skills.
  • Capability to perform general and preventive maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Desire to assist wherever needed and take on various projects.
  • EPA certification is a plus.
  • General automotive maintenance experience is beneficial.

Work Environment

This role is based out of the North Chicago plant, with occasional projects at nearby locations. The work environment is fairly clean and is within a large chemical facility. The dress code requires steel-toed boots and a uniform, which are provided when the employee becomes permanent. The position operates on the first shift, Monday through Friday, with potential for overtime.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
