Level 1 IT Support Specialist

Location: Miami, FL (on-site/field work required)

Overview

V-NET Consulting is seeking a motivated Level 1 IT Support Specialist to join our growing team. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals with a passion for technology and a desire to grow in the IT industry. The ideal candidate will have some technical training or experience, be eager to learn, and thrive in a team environment while also being able to work independently when needed.

This role is a great starting point to build a career in IT with opportunities to develop advanced skills, gain hands-on experience, and grow into higher-level engineering roles within our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 technical support for end-users, including resolving common issues such as password resets, email setup, connectivity problems, and basic software troubleshooting.
  • Assist with setting up and imaging laptops, desktops, and other devices for client deployments.
  • Travel to client sites (as needed) to install new equipment, assist with hardware replacements, and troubleshoot network or workstation issues.
  • Monitor and update tickets in our PSA system, ensuring accurate documentation and timely communication with clients and management.
  • Provide backup phone coverage for the dispatcher during scheduled breaks.
  • Contribute and maintain documentation by creating and updating knowledge base articles.
  • Collaborate with senior technicians and engineers to learn advanced troubleshooting techniques and escalate issues appropriately.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or 0–1 years of relevant IT support experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and basic networking concepts preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to clearly explain technical issues to non-technical users.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently, taking direction and following established procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to client sites.
  • Strong commitment to delivering quality service and a willingness to learn and grow.
