ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER
Commercial General Contractor in Downtown Sanford is seeking a highly motivated On-Site and in Office ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER to provide management oversight for all phases of construction, including estimating review, managing superintendents, coordinating with subcontractors, materials, ensuring that specifications are being followed, work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent the company in a professional manner to the client, architect, consultants, subcontractors, and the general public.
- Assist the GC in managing the projects effectively from the initial hand-off to the final completion. This includes managing the construction process, subcontractor relations, cost and budget issues, as well as client expectations.
- Proactively communicate information to architects, engineers, field personnel, subs, and vendors to enable them to work toward the successful completion of the project schedule and in accordance with contract documents.
- Oversees performance of all trade contractors and reviews architectural and engineering drawings to ensure that all specifications and regulations are being followed.
- Assists superintendents, resolves any reported difficulties, and corrects any issues or other deficiencies.
- Creates, tracks and controls construction schedule to achieve completion of project on time.
- Oversee delivery and use of materials, quality of construction, productivity, and compliance with building/safety codes.
- Manage time effectively, multi-task and prioritize in order to meet established goals and deadlines.
- Proactive in identifying issues before they arise.
- Identify and track potential change orders.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5 + years of experience in the COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT FIELD.
- Must be able to work in a small business environment.
- Must be able to read and interpret building and site plans and specifications.
- Must be able to prepare project schedules.
- Must possess working knowledge of computer applications and project scheduling software. (Word, Excel, MS Project)
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to read and interpret building and site plans and specifications
- Be a team player.
- Must have a current DL and a clean driving record.
