Job Summary

The On-Site Supervisor (AUTOMATION) is responsible for overseeing a team of maintenance technicians. This position ensures the proper functioning of facilities and equipment by planning, scheduling, and supervising repairs while maintaining safety standards and implementing preventive maintenance procedures. The Maintenance Supervisor will train staff, inspect facilities, develop maintenance schedules, manage inventory, and respond to maintenance requests. This position reports to a District Manager and typically has 2 or more direct reports.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Train, assign tasks, supervise, and provide performance reviews and corrections to maintenance technicians.
  • Designated contact for customers.
  • Perform and complete PMs and repairs.
  • Execute daily walkthrough inspections of facility and equipment.
  • Provide shift coverage.
  • Communicate PTO coverage plans with direct supervisors and/or customers.
  • Coordinate warranty requests.
  • Direct outside vendor work (PO process and billing).
  • Facilitate all outside scope of work.
  • Complete parts ordering and inventory management (5S Inventory Skills).
  • Ensure completion of monthly safety training within the required timeframe.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to proactively address potential issues.
  • Regularly inspect facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and potential safety hazards.
  • Respond to maintenance requests, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs with internal staff or external contractors.
  • Complete all repairs of equipment in a timely manner and by the manufacturer’s repair guidelines.
  • Monitor maintenance costs and work within budget constraints.
  • Track maintenance activities, generate reports on equipment performance, and maintenance status.
  • Timely and accurately complete all work orders and service records within the company guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and timely entry of work hours in timekeeping platform.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Complete all work in a safe manner adhering to company and customer safety requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Key Performance Measurements:

  • A score card that reflects performance in areas such as safety, PM completion, Technician efficiency, customer satisfaction, inventory variance, work in progress, shop cleanliness, and 5S inventory skills.
  • Management observation regarding attitude, diligence, team contributions, and willingness and ability to learn new skills and information.
  • Other key performance indicators as assigned.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Technical training certificate, vocational school training, associate’s degree in related field, preferred.
  • Should have 5+ years of experience as maintenance supervisor or equivalent job role.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and apply knowledge of equipment manuals, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, hydraulic diagrams, and pneumatic prints.
  • Must be self-motivated, goal oriented, punctual, professional, have a solution-based mindset with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to motivate and manage a team of maintenance technicians, and competently plan and schedule maintenance tasks.
  • Successfully build customer and team relationships.
  • Ability to clearly communicate (both written and verbal) and articulate ideas with customers, maintenance team, management, and other departments.
  • Must have strong Programable Logic Controller (PLC) trouble shooting experience. SLC 500 or Studio 5000 preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills- 480v,240v,24v, 48v.
  • Must understand how to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical components involving wiring diagrams and schematics, general abilities in laptop software to identify issues with automation equipment going offline.
  • Must supply own hand tools; specialty tools will be provided.
  • Well developed technology and office skills.
  • Basic plumbing skills, preferred.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs, and across remote locations.
  • Willing to be on-call.
