The Midtown Group is actively recruiting for a junior level Data Analyst to support a local government client's sustainability division on a long-term contract basis.

This is a mostly onsite role requiring the hired individual to be in the office 4 days a week. The office is located in northeastern quadrant of Washington, D.C.

Qualifications
\n
\n
• Top notch quantitative analysis skills.
\n
• Experience managing and manipulating data.
\n
• Experience integrating and drawing conclusions based on a multitude of data sets.
\n
• Expertise with Excel is a must.
\n
• Problem solver; Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn about sustainability topics.
\n
\n
Preferred
\n
\n
• Experience with energy and sustainability data sets and systems, including ENERGY
\n
STAR Portfolio Manager, utility bill management platform(s), LEED submissions, Net
\n
Zero Energy certifications, and/or GHG databases.
\n
• Experience with construction and facilities management data sets and systems,
\n
including construction project management platform(s) and/or Salesforce.
\n
• Experience working with energy, greenhouse gas emission, renewable energy
\n
production, and building data.
\n
• Experience creating or reviewing building energy models.
\n
• Familiarity with DC laws and regulations, including the Building Energy Performance Standards.
\n
\n
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
\n
Internal Functions
\n
\n
• Participate in and be the data liaison for weekly Energy Management Plan
\n
(EMP) meetings, including responding to data requests from EMP team members.
\n
• Track, with assistance from vendor, Building Energy Performance
\n
Standards (BEPS) Alternative Compliance Plan (ACP) energy and GHG reductions.
\n
• Monitor building energy performance and compare performance to published
\n
standards by building type.
\n
• Track the office's annual energy and GHG emissions according to the baselines and
\n
metrics of environmental laws and regulations.
\n
• Liaise with the Capital Construction Services and Facilities Management divisions
\n
• Reconcile, update, and track data points from the organization's utility management
\n
platform, ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, construction project management
\n
platform, Capital Improvement Plans, Net Zero Energy Program, Energy Retrofit
\n
Program, and Solar PV Program.
\n
• Review new construction/modernization energy models, including tracking
\n
modeled and actual energy use intensity (EUI) scores.
\n
• Manage the office's energy-related key Performance Indicators (KPI), Work
\n
Load Measures, Strategic Initiatives, quarterly.
\n
• Manage DGS’ LEED Data Sharing and Green Power credits and associated letters.
\n
• Serve as the technical lead for the development of an enterprise data
\n
warehouse.
\n
o Cross walk records among different division source systems, including
\n
reconciling building names, addresses, and occupying agencies.
\n
• Coordinate with Energy Service Performance Contractor advisor
\n
on Measurement and Verification.
\n
• Manage Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU) rebate applications through the DC
\n
government donation process.
\n
• Support geospatial analysis of impervious surface area utility charges.
\n
• Perform other data and reporting duties as assigned.
\n
External Functions
\n
• Manage ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager benchmarking for the organization's portfolio.
\n
\n
Management includes:
\n
\n
o Quarterly internal reporting, annual reporting to DOEE by April 1st;
\n
o Surveying client agencies, building managers, etc. to update building use
\n
details in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager;
\n
o Responding to DOEE regarding QA/QC after April 1st benchmarking
\n
submission.
\n
• Oversee the office's submission to DOEE’s greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory.
\n
• Report on the organization's annual DOEE Sustainable DC and Homeland Security and
\n
Emergency Management Agency (HSEMA) Resilience DC metrics.
