We are searching for a SCADA Technical Project Manager on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment. (W-2) You will serve as the Owner’s Representative responsible for leading the engineering, software development, integration, commissioning, and lifecycle management of SCADA, PLC, HMI, and plant control systems for utility-scale renewable energy projects including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), photovoltaic (PV), and hybrid power plants. This role combines technical leadership with project management to deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with engineering, cybersecurity, and utility requirements.

\n
Key Responsibilities
\n
• Lead end-to-end delivery of SCADA, PLC, RTU, HMI, networking, and plant control system projects.
\n
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, contractors, EPCs, OEMs, consultants, and third-party vendors.
\n
• Develop, review, and optimize PLC programs using Schneider M340/M580 and similar platforms.
\n
• Oversee SCADA integration using Ignition, OPC, historians, RTACs, and industrial communication networks.
\n
• Lead FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup, PPA, LGIA, and performance testing.
\n
• Review electrical, communication, networking, and control system drawings and specifications.
\n
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and provide technical leadership for SCADA architecture and control strategies.
\n
• Establish coding standards, documentation, configuration management, cybersecurity practices, and version control.
\n
• Provide technical troubleshooting for PLCs, RTUs, protection relays, inverters, meters, networking equipment, managed switches, and fiber optic systems.
\n
• Report project status, risks, milestones, and corrective actions to management.
\n
\n
Technical Qualifications
\n
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation, or related discipline.
\n
• 8+ years managing and commissioning renewable SCADA and control systems.
\n
• Expert knowledge of Ignition SCADA, PLC programming, OPC, Modbus, DNP3, EtherNet/IP, CAN, RTUs, historians, and industrial networking.
\n
• Experience with BESS, PV, hybrid plants, utility interconnections, and renewable power generation.
\n
• Knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, firewalls, managed switches (Cisco, Hirschmann, MOXA), and industrial communications.
\n
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
\n
\n
Preferred Experience
\n
• Renewable energy commissioning and Owner's Representative experience.
\n
• Experience leading multiple concurrent projects and geographically distributed teams.
\n
• Knowledge of NERC CIP, utility standards, and grid interconnection requirements.
\n
\n
Travel
\n
• Remote position with travel up to 50% as required for project execution and commissioning.
\n
\n
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $70.00/hr.. to $93.00/hr.
