Job DescriptionMaintenance & Tooling Supervisor
Location: Bristol, CT
Schedule: 6AM - 2PM, Monday- Friday
Hourly Pay: $30/hr (62,400k Annually)
About the Role
A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance & Tooling Supervisor to lead maintenance operations and support the efficient performance of its production facility. This role is responsible for minimizing equipment downtime through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, tooling support, and facility maintenance. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong mechanical and electrical expertise who thrives in a manufacturing environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, servicing, and overhauls on production machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and system failures.
- Maintain, repair, assemble, and reassemble production and support equipment as needed.
- Maintain tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance inventories required for efficient operations.
- Complete maintenance documentation, work orders, and maintenance logs accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain detailed records for all production and support equipment.
Leadership & Training
- Supervise maintenance activities and coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize production interruptions.
- Train and support production personnel in equipment maintenance and operational best practices.
- Collaborate closely with machine operators, production staff, quality personnel, and management to ensure equipment reliability.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and external service providers while maintaining professional relationships.
- Support tooling and production improvement initiatives across the organization.
Facility & Grounds Maintenance
- Supervise and/or perform maintenance of building mechanical systems.
- Oversee maintenance of company property, grounds, and parking areas.
- Develop, organize, and maintain a fully operational maintenance and repair tool shop.
- Assist with production operations as needed, including machine operation during staffing shortages or operational demands.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, confined space requirements, and other applicable safety standards.
- Maintain compliance with environmental regulations and document activities related to air, water, and material management.
- Monitor facility conditions and ensure building operations meet all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a culture of workplace safety and continuous improvement.
QualificationsRequired
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience maintaining and repairing industrial production equipment.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices.
- Proficiency with maintenance logs, preventive maintenance programs, and equipment documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Experience with tooling maintenance, fabrication, or machine shop operations.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and automated manufacturing systems.
- Experience managing contractors and vendor relationships.
- Familiarity with environmental compliance and facility maintenance programs.
