Position Summary: The Quarry Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, productions, activities, maintenance functions, and personnel at a quarry facility. The role ensures the safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction, processing, and distribution of aggregate materials while maintaining compliance with all company policies, environmental regulations, and federal, state, and local safety requirements.

Job Description:

  • Supervise and lead quarry personnel, including equipment operators, laborers, and maintenance staff.
  • Plan and manage daily production schedules to meet operational targets.
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and company safety policies.
  • Monitor drilling, blasting, crushing, and screening activities.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs of equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Track production metrics, material inventory, and operational costs.
  • Collaborate with management on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train and mentor team members to maintain a skilled workforce.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in quarry, mining, or aggregate operations.
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of crushing operations, plant systems, and heavy equipment.
  • Familiarity with MSHA regulations.
  • Ability to read production reports and manage operational efficiency.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
