The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance to ensure apartment homes, common areas, and community facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, and functional condition. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, knowledge of building maintenance systems, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on apartments, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliance repairs.
- Complete work orders accurately and efficiently while meeting company standards and deadlines.
- Prepare vacant apartment units for new residents by completing make-ready repairs and inspections.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, and community amenities.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
- Maintain the grounds, common areas, and exterior of the property as needed.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and participate in the on-call rotation when required.
- Inspect buildings and equipment to identify repair needs and safety concerns.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service when interacting with residents and team members.
- Perform additional maintenance duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum two (2) years of apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, or general maintenance experience preferred.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance repair, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues efficiently.
- Basic computer skills for completing work orders and maintenance documentation.
