We are seeking an experienced Swimming Pool Service & Maintenance Manager to provide leadership, direction, and operational oversight for our Service and Maintenance operations.

This position will be based primarily at our Houston location at 1701 S Texas 6, Houston, TX 77077, with regular travel to our Montgomery location. A company truck will be provided for business travel between locations and other work-related responsibilities.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader and problem solver who knows how to develop teams, improve operations, hold employees accountable, and deliver results while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Swimming pool industry experience is preferred; however, candidates with successful leadership experience in service-based industries such as HVAC, landscaping, pest control, plumbing, construction services, or similar field-service operations are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for Swimming Pool Service & Maintenance operations supporting the Houston and Montgomery locations.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and hold Service and Maintenance team members accountable for performance, productivity, quality, and customer service.
  • Drive achievement of service and maintenance revenue, profitability, operational, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to promote communication, alignment, accountability, and progress toward department objectives.
  • Support the team in resolving escalated swimming pool service, equipment, water chemistry, maintenance, and customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Oversee service and maintenance ticket lifecycle management, documentation accuracy, work completion, and invoicing processes.
  • Monitor swimming pool maintenance routes, technician productivity, workload distribution, and service quality.
  • Serve as a key liaison between New Pool Sales, Renovation Sales, Construction, and Service & Maintenance to ensure seamless transitions from pool construction through startup, warranty, service, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Monitor key performance metrics, including service ticket volume, maintenance route performance, service and maintenance revenue, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide regular department performance updates and reporting to company leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, productivity, profitability, and the overall customer experience.
  • Partner with leadership to evaluate, standardize, and improve processes, including continued adoption of Microsoft Business Central and paperless workflows.
  • Support the execution of swimming pool service and maintenance promotions and marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, employee development, and performance management.
  • Ensure effective workforce management, including scheduling, time tracking, payroll accuracy, staffing levels, and workload distribution.
  • Oversee fleet and inventory processes, including company vehicle inspections, maintenance, tracking, chemical and equipment inventory, and accountability.
  • Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety, including proper chemical handling, vehicle operation, driver accountability, and ongoing safety training.
  • Travel regularly between the Houston and Montgomery locations and throughout the service area as business needs require.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience, preferably within the swimming pool industry or a related service-based industry.
  • Swimming pool service and maintenance experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience leading teams of 10 or more employees in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, train, mentor, coach, develop, and manage employees.
  • Experience managing field-service teams, routes, scheduling, productivity, and customer expectations.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to changing operational needs.
  • Strong commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience.
  • Ability to understand and manage department performance, revenue goals, labor, productivity, and operational metrics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Central or similar business management/ERP systems is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly between Houston, Montgomery, and surrounding service areas.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Ability to work in both office and outdoor field environments
  • Ability to walk job sites and residential swimming pool areas
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb as necessary
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment or supplies as required
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including Houston-area heat
  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
  • Ability to travel between company locations, customer properties, and job sites
