Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Developer 3 to design, develop, maintain, and support the departments software applications and reporting solutions
This position will oversee a variety of in-house, vendor-provided, and commercial software solutions. The selected candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining Crystal Reports, widgets, forms, Power Apps, SQL components, and .NET applications and services
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with SQL Server development, Crystal Reports, C#.NET, the .NET web framework, DevOps, and Microsoft Power Platform technologies
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and assist in the development of application specifications
- Design, build, and maintain Crystal Reports, widgets, forms, Power Apps, and .NET applications and services
- Perform extensive SQL development and Crystal Reports development
- Develop and maintain SQL queries, functions, stored procedures, views, triggers, transactions, and table structures
- Analyze customer information needs, business problems, and business opportunities
- Recommend efficient and effective systems and programming solutions
- Serve as the IT subject matter expert for assigned application areas
- Provide application development and technical support for assigned tasks
- Maintain, support, and upgrade existing systems and applications
- Design, develop, test, debug, document, and implement computer programs
- Develop programs using department-standard programming languages and tools
- Ensure the quality, reliability, and effective operation of assigned applications
- Work effectively within a team in both lead and supporting roles, depending on project requirements
- Use version-control and DevOps tools to manage application code and development activities
Required Education
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems or Computer Science
Required Experience
- 5 years of application development experience
- 5 years of experience writing SQL functions, queries, stored procedures, and views
- 5 years of experience with program, report, and form development tools
- 5 years of experience using code-versioning and DevOps tools
- 5 years of experience with the .NET web framework
- 5 years of experience developing applications using C#.NET
- 5 years of experience with Power Apps, Power BI Services, and Power Automate
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server development
- Experience with relational database design and development
- Experience developing stored procedures, user-defined functions, table structures, triggers, transactions, and table variables
- Strong Crystal Reports development knowledge
- Solid understanding of application, report, and form development
- Proficiency in C#.NET and the Microsoft .NET ecosystem
- Knowledge of the .NET web framework
- Proficiency with DevOps and code-versioning tools
- Experience with Power Apps, Power BI Services, and Power Automate
- Ability to research and analyze technical and business information
- Ability to identify business needs and recommend effective programming solutions
- Ability to draw logical conclusions from technical and business requirements
- Strong application troubleshooting, maintenance, and support skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
