C++ Runtime & Performance Engineer | Quantitative Trading | New York / Chicago

We are working with a top quantitative trading firm looking for an engineer with deep expertise in C++, Linux and systems performance.
\n
\n
The team works on some of the lowest-level components of the firm's technology stack, focusing on extracting performance from modern hardware and improving the efficiency and predictability of latency-sensitive systems.

\n
What you’ll work on:
\n
- \n
- Build and optimize performance-critical C++ systems
- Investigate CPU, memory and concurrency bottlenecks
- Work on memory allocation, threading, synchronization and runtime behaviour
- Profile applications from software down to the underlying hardware
- Improve cache efficiency, data layout and execution performance
- Develop low-level tooling and infrastructure used by other engineers

What we’re looking for:
\n
- \n
- Deep C++ and Linux experience
- Strong understanding of memory management, concurrency and CPU architecture
- Experience profiling and optimizing complex systems
- Knowledge of caches, NUMA, allocators, atomics and synchronization
- Experience with compilers, runtimes, kernels, databases, browsers, networking or other performance-sensitive systems is highly relevant

No previous trading experience is required. This is particularly relevant for engineers working on performance-sensitive infrastructure, runtimes, operating systems, compilers, browsers or large-scale C++ systems.
