Inclusive Living Solutions is seeking compassionate individuals, couples, or families who are interested in opening their home to support an adult with an intellectual or developmental disability. This opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact in someone’s life while earning a competitive income and receiving ongoing professional support from a licensed provider.
Sponsored Residential providers share their home and provide daily support to an individual receiving services through the Virginia Community Living Waiver.
Important Timing Information
We are hiring now, however the onboarding and approval process typically takes 1 to 1.5months before an individual can move into your home. The timeline depends on your ability to complete required training and prepare your home for the licensing inspection.
Training Requirement
All providers must complete 24 hours of required synchronized training before placement.
Training:
- Is unpaid
- Can be scheduled across multiple days that fit your availability
- Is conducted in Hampton, Virginia and some online
Please do not apply if you are unable to complete the full training requirement.
Housing Requirements (Important)
Before applying, please confirm the following:
- Your home can obtain a Certificate of Occupancy from the city.
- Homes built before 1973 may have difficulty obtaining this certificate.
- If you rent, your landlord must provide written permission allowing you to sublease a room and receive rent from the individual living with you. Obtain verbal approval from your landlord first. Inclusive Living Solutions will then provide the template required for written permission to rent a room to an individual receiving services.
- Anyone over 18 years of age living in the host home must be able to pass a background check and Central Registry search.
- You have access to 90 days worth of living expenses (the average of all of your bills per month x3 months)
These items will be verified early in the process.
We strongly prefer candidates who:
- Own their home
- Have previous experience hosting or providing care in a residential setting
