Senior Facilities Technician Job Description

We are on the hunt for a full-time, skilled and reliable senior facilities technician to join our team in Warsaw, Indiana. You will be responsible for upkeep and repair duties including identifying the need for repairs, responding to tenants’ maintenance requests, maintaining facilities, performing preventative maintenance, working on team projects, and servicing company equipment.

To be an effective senior facilities technician, you will be skilled and hard-working, with outstanding problem-solving abilities. The position also requires good communication skills with the Swyft team and when tenant interaction is required.

Responsibilities:

Perform apartment turnovers — walk-through inspections, photographing and documenting damage, completing repairs and cleaning, and overseeing preparation of units for new tenants
Respond to tenants’ maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
Perform tasks including drywall repairs, painting, cleaning facilities, and managing small projects.
Diagnose and repair appliances and fixtures including refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers, water heaters, etc.
Perform repairs on company machinery, equipment, or appliances.
Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs.
Regularly check community spaces to identify issues with litter, mechanical failure, or breakdowns.
Repair basic plumbing and electrical systems
Maintain the cleanliness of outside spaces such as parking lots and sidewalks.
Provide tenants with support and guidance on maintaining their equipment/residence.

What We're Looking For:

Valid driver's license (required)
Able to pass a background check (required)
Experience in maintenance, construction, or a related trade (3+ years preferred, but we'll consider strong candidates with the right attitude and mechanical aptitude)
Comfortable with basic plumbing, electrical, drywall, and painting
Comfortable using power tools
Able to work independently, manage your schedule, and follow through without constant supervision
Good communicator — with the team and with tenants
Comfortable using a smartphone and apps for communication, time tracking, reporting & research.

Physical Requirements: Lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders and stairs, kneeling and working in confined spaces, extended standing and walking, indoor and outdoor work in varying weather.
