Job Title: 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on performing preventive maintenance and repairs on die cast equipment, rotating machinery, manual conveyors, and blast equipment in a clean, modern foundry environment. You will maintain a structured preventive maintenance schedule and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently while working independently on the third shift.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on die cast equipment, rotating machinery, manual conveyors, and blast equipment according to established schedules.
  • Inspect mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and related systems to identify potential issues before they lead to equipment downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, including components such as pumps, valves, cylinders, and hoses.
  • Conduct routine mechanical maintenance, including adjustments, lubrication, parts replacement, and alignment of industrial equipment.
  • Perform basic electrical-related maintenance tasks as required to support safe and reliable equipment operation.
  • Maintain and update a preventive maintenance schedule, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and documented accurately.
  • Work independently as the sole maintenance technician on the third shift, responding promptly to equipment issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with first-shift maintenance and production personnel to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent equipment performance.
  • Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working in a foundry environment.
  • Participate in training on first shift for 1–3 months to learn equipment, processes, and maintenance standards before transitioning to third shift.

Essential Skills

  • Strong mechanical background with hands-on experience in industrial mechanical maintenance.
  • Proven experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment such as die cast machines, rotating machinery, conveyors, and blast equipment.
  • Practical knowledge of hydraulic systems and hydraulic repair.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance planning and execution in an industrial setting.
  • Understanding of pneumatics and related maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to perform basic electrical maintenance tasks safely.
  • Capability to maintain and follow a structured preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Ability to work independently as the only maintenance technician on third shift.
  • Willingness and ability to train on first shift for 1–3 months before moving to third shift.
  • Comfort working in a foundry environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a foundry environment is a strong plus.
  • Relevant technical schooling or formal training in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field is highly beneficial.
  • Experience in industrial maintenance roles such as maintenance technician or industrial mechanic.
  • Familiarity with safe work practices in an industrial or foundry setting.

Work Environment

This position is based in a clean and open foundry environment with modern equipment and well-maintained facilities. The role is on third shift, typically from 7:00 p.m. to 5:15 a.m., working four 10-hour shifts with most Fridays off. You will be the only maintenance technician on staff during this shift, requiring a high level of independence and responsibility. Initial training occurs on first shift for 1–3 months to familiarize you with the equipment, processes, and safety standards. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and cleanliness typical of a well-run industrial operation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pewaukee, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
