PAY RANGE: $90,000 - $110,000 ANNUAL DOE
Together California is seeking a Facilities Director to oversee the safety, maintenance, compliance, and operational readiness of agency-operated homes and facilities. This position plays an important role in ensuring that children and sibling groups placed in our care have access to safe, comfortable, accessible, and welcoming environments.
The Facilities Director will work closely with agency leadership, staff, vendors, county and state agencies, and other community partners to ensure our properties meet applicable licensing, safety, accessibility, and regulatory requirements.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Facilities & Compliance
- Ensure agency homes and facilities meet applicable licensing, safety, accessibility, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee routine maintenance, repairs, inspections, and facility improvements.
- Establish and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and ensure timely resolution of facility concerns.
- Monitor properties for potential safety hazards and coordinate corrective action.
- Maintain accurate facility records, inspection documentation, permits, and compliance materials.
Housing & Sibling Placement Support
- Help ensure agency-operated homes are appropriately equipped to safely accommodate sibling groups.
- Work with agency teams to identify housing needs related to sibling placements.
- Coordinate timely facility solutions when placement needs change unexpectedly.
- Assist in developing emergency or temporary housing solutions when siblings experience sudden placement disruptions.
Budget & Vendor Management
- Develop and manage facility-related budgets and expenditures.
- Obtain estimates, coordinate contracts, and oversee vendors and service providers.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure work is completed appropriately and within established timelines.
- Identify opportunities to improve facility operations while managing costs responsibly.
Agency & Community Coordination
- Collaborate with county and state agencies, including DCFS and other social service systems, regarding housing and facility requirements.
- Participate in inspections, licensing activities, and facility-related meetings.
- Work collaboratively with agency leadership and staff to address facility concerns and operational needs.
- Represent Together California professionally when interacting with vendors, government agencies, community partners, and the public.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years of facilities management experience, preferably within social services, residential care, foster care, or another regulated environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, property management practices, residential safety requirements, and child welfare licensing standards.
- Experience working with government agencies, social service systems, or regulatory organizations preferred.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and project-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple properties, projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employees, vendors, government agencies, and members of the public.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to respond appropriately to urgent facility and housing needs.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with agency teams.
- Reliability, punctuality, professionalism, and sound judgment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, or emergency situations as needed.
- Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and required automobile insurance.
- Ability to successfully complete all required child abuse, criminal background, and sexual offender registry clearances.
- Ability to work in an alcohol-, tobacco-, and drug-free environment.
