Backend Founding Engineer

Job Description

A start up is looking for a Backend Founding Engineer to join their team.

Location: NYC; Must be able to work in NYC 4 days onsite per week

\n

Compensation: $180-230k + Equity

\n

Must have worked at early stage start-ups!

\n

\n

US Citizens/GC Holders; no C2C/3rd parties

\n

\n

Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Independently communicate with Customer Support to investigate and resolve customer-reported issues

\n

• Design database schemas and APIs for small-to-medium scoped features

\n

• Implement features following internal engineering principles and guidelines

\n

• Provide estimates for their own work and communicate progress and risks proactively to the team

\n

\n

\n

Qualifications:

\n

Deep experience with and understanding of:

\n

\n
• JavaScript (5+ years)

\n

• Node.js (5+ years)

\n

• Express.js framework (2+ years)

\n

• APIs (5+ years)/Building fintech backend APIs (1+ years)

\n

• Databases (PostGreSQL) (2+ years)

\n

• Architecture (2+ years)

\n

• Fintech web applications (1+ years)

\n

\n

\n

\n
• Ability to see challenges as opportunities to level up, high-achieving and goal-oriented

\n

• A collaborative spirit and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, highly collaborative and transparent in your work, output, and decision making
