Our client develops AI solutions for repetitive healthcare tasks — from AI phone agents for appointment scheduling and rescheduling through prior authorization. Built for private practices and specialty clinics, its highly customizable solutions deploy within hours and integrate directly into existing clinic workflows without requiring system migrations. It has four live pilots and a waitlist of ten additional clinics.

The Role
The client is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to own client accounts end to end — joining first calls as leads come in, handling implementation, and owning the relationship going forward. The role is genuinely blended, with a hard ceiling of 70% technical / 30% client-facing; candidates leaning more client-facing than that ratio are not a fit.
Tech stack: Python cloud backend (AWS/GCP), Node.js frontend, Tauri/Rust desktop client, CI/CD, containerization. (Rust experience is not required.)
Requirements
- 2+ years of software-engineering experience
- Deep production Python backend and API experience
- Comfortable with an up-to-70% technical / 30% client-facing split
- AWS/GCP, CI/CD, Node.js; Rust systems-thinking a plus
- On-site in SF five days a week, with ~30% travel
Nice to Haves
- A direct, specific communicator who dives into technical detail rather than staying high-level
- A strong ownership mindset that treats issues in their account as theirs to resolve
- Healthcare or clinic-adjacent industry experience
- Experience building and deploying voice-AI or computer-use agents in production, not just experimenting
- A systems thinker comfortable moving between backend, cloud infra, and desktop/OS-level concerns
