Electro‑Mechanical Maintenance Specialist, Automation & CNC
Job Description
Job DescriptionShape reliable production with your hands-on expertise
Our Canton, Ohio production facility is expanding, and we’re looking for an organized, results-driven professional to keep our equipment running at its best. As an Electro‑Mechanical Maintenance Specialist, you’ll arrive before sunrise and leave knowing the lines are ready for tomorrow.
A day in the role
You clock in for the Day Shift (Mon–Thu, 5:00am–3:30pm, 4/10s) and review overnight work requests. You move from a conveyor to a robot cell, performing preventive maintenance, listening for irregular sounds, checking lubrication points, and swapping out worn components. A line stops—your electrical diagnostics quickly pinpoint a failed sensor. Later, you program a PLC tweak to stabilize a pick-and-place routine, fabricate a small bracket to secure cabling, and coach an operator on quick checks that prevent repeat issues. Throughout, you read schematics and blueprints, log PMs, and partner with Production Supervisors to meet safety, quality, and throughput goals.
What you’ll tackle
- Routine and preventive maintenance across manufacturing assets, with emphasis on conveyors, automation, and robotics
- Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults; repairing or replacing defective parts
- PLC programming and controls troubleshooting to improve uptime
- Interpreting engineering drawings and electrical schematics
- Fabricating components when needed to support reliability
- Guiding Machine Operators on basic troubleshooting and care
How you’ll make an impact
- Inspect, test, and when necessary dismantle equipment to diagnose issues and install repaired/new parts
- Use sound and performance cues to identify malfunctions; collaborate with peers and supervisors to resolve root causes
- Clean and lubricate bearings, gears, shafts, and related parts as part of PM standards
- Install/repair electrical apparatus (e.g., transformers, wiring) and electro‑mechanical components
- Build and maintain pipe systems; service hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, gauges, valves, and regulators
- Install, program, or repair automated machinery including robots and programmable controllers
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Hands-on experience as a maintenance mechanic/technician in a production environment
- Ability to read technical specifications, prints, and schematics
- Detail oriented; follows work instructions and documented processes
- Adaptable, calm under pressure, and solutions focused in a fast-paced setting
- Sets high standards for quality; committed to continuous improvement
- Proficient in English (spoken and written); computer literate

Where you’ll thrive
Under the Production Manager, you’ll support daily maintenance and long-range reliability planning. You’ll help drive continuous improvement for AmbaFlex Manufacturing using OEE, structured work requests, and preventive/predictive programs—partnering closely with Production Supervisors to meet manufacturing, quality, and safety targets.
