Description
Continuous Improvement Engineers to support a newly established distribution and logistics operation in Northwest Indiana. This is an excellent opportunity for recent engineering graduates or early-career engineers looking to develop hands-on experience in process improvement, Lean methodologies, operations, and problem-solving within a fast-paced warehouse environment.
These positions will work closely with operations leadership to identify process inefficiencies, improve workflow, and implement solutions that enhance productivity, quality, and overall operational performance.
Responsibilities
•Analyze warehouse and operational processes to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
•Conduct root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies.
•Collect and analyze operational data to support continuous improvement initiatives.
•Partner with leadership and frontline employees to evaluate current processes and recommend improvements.
•Support Lean initiatives including 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, and Kanban systems.
•Develop process documentation, standard operating procedures, and improvement plans.
•Monitor performance metrics and measure the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
•Participate in cross-functional projects focused on operational excellence and process optimization.
•Assist with process audits and continuous improvement activities throughout the facility.
•Utilize ERP systems and operational reporting tools to support decision-making.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Required
•Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, Operations Engineering, or related field.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
•Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

•Internship, co-op, project, or professional experience involving:

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Schererville, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
