Electrical VDC/ BIM Manager
Location: New York, NY
Salary: $180,000 - $220,000 (salary depends on experience)
Position Overview
Senior technical leader responsible for supervising multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering high-quality BIM/VDC-enabled design and construction coordination. This role drives Revit and Navisworks workflows, oversees model quality and clash resolution, manages schedule integration (CPM and production schedules), and ensures constructability and compliance across electrical and broader engineering scopes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering and BIM/VDC teams to deliver coordinated models using Revit and Navisworks, ensuring quality and constructability.
- Run clash detection, coordination sessions, and issue tracking through resolution.
- Develop and integrate CPM/production schedules with design and construction milestones.
- Coordinate electrical engineering inputs with other trades; review drawings for constructability.
- Manage project documentation and collaboration tools (e.g., SmartSheet) for tracking and reporting.
- Partner with PMs, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve issues and manage change impacts.
- Present coordination reports and deliverables to clients and leadership.
- Mentor staff and drive BIM/VDC best practices and continuous improvement.
- Enforce safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in BIM management, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
- Proficiency in Revit is required; experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design Construction (VDC) processes.
- Experience leading teams
- Strong leadership and communication skills to manage cross-functional teams.
- Experience in commercial and healthcare construction projects is an advantage.
- Relevant certifications in BIM or VDC are desirable.
