Role Description The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Irving, TX. This role is responsible for performing routine and corrective maintenance on building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural components. Daily tasks include inspecting facilities, responding to maintenance requests, troubleshooting equipment issues, and completing preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime. The role also involves maintaining maintenance records, monitoring inventory of tools and supplies, and supporting facility upgrades or small projects to keep the site efficient, safe, and functional.

Qualifications

• Strong Facility Management (FM) skills, with experience overseeing building systems, work orders, and vendor coordination.

• Proficiency in Preventive Maintenance, including scheduling, documenting, and executing routine inspections and service tasks.

\n

• Hands-on Building Maintenance experience, including basic mechanical, electrical, and general repair work.

\n

• Practical Plumbing skills for diagnosing issues, performing minor repairs, and maintaining water and drainage systems.

\n

• Carpentry skills for repairs and modifications to walls, doors, fixtures, and other structural elements.

\n

• Knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and best practices for working with tools, equipment, and chemicals.

\n

• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, diagrams, and basic construction or facility drawings.

\n

• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with operations, laboratory, and administrative teams.

\n

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in building maintenance or a related trade is preferred.

\n

• Previous experience in a healthcare, research, or laboratory facility environment is a plus.
