Base salary: 5,000 per month (60,000 annually)

About the role
We’re looking for a hands-on Hardware Engineer / Server Technician to work alongside our senior hardware engineer to build, maintain, and troubleshoot the server infrastructure behind our products.
You’ll support our data center locations in Kirkland, Bellevue, and Tukwila, where our production services operate 24/7. Your work will range from assembling and installing servers to diagnosing hardware failures, maintaining inventory, and testing new configurations.
This role requires someone who is dependable, organized, and comfortable working independently while communicating with a globally distributed team. A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle are required for travel between data center locations.
What you’ll do
- Build, rack, cable, configure, and maintain servers and related networking equipment.
- Work alongside our senior hardware engineer on installations, repairs, upgrades, and new projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including failed drives, servers, switches, and network connectivity problems.
- Travel between data center locations for scheduled work and urgent troubleshooting.
- Support Linux and Windows server administration and networking.
- Maintain accurate hardware inventory, equipment records, and documentation.
- Help design, assemble, and test prototype devices and cost-effective server configurations.
- Document configurations, troubleshooting steps, and operating procedures.
- Communicate progress, issues, and next steps clearly with our distributed team.
- Participate in on-call support and respond promptly to production incidents, including evenings and weekends.
What we’re looking for
- Hands-on experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting computers or servers.
- Experience with Linux and Windows server administration and networking.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to diagnosing hardware and infrastructure issues.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- The ability to take initiative, work independently, and collaborate effectively.
- Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues and document your work.
- Availability to work on-site during regular hours and provide on-call support outside those hours.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle.
- Residence in Kirkland, Bellevue, Tukwila, or a nearby area, with the ability to travel between sites and respond promptly to outages.
