Job Title: Facilities Support Technician
Location: Portland, OR
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $24.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on experience
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable Facilities Support Technician for a secure federal facility in Portland. This role is primarily responsible for janitorial and housekeeping support, while also assisting the on-site Facility Manager with basic building-support tasks.
This is not a management position and not a full maintenance technician role. The position is ideal for someone who is comfortable with commercial cleaning work and can also assist with light facility tasks such as filter changes, lamp replacement, basic plumbing repairs, and other minor building-support duties.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform daily janitorial and housekeeping tasks throughout the facility
- Clean restrooms, offices, common areas, entry points, and support spaces
- Remove trash and recycling
- Restock janitorial and restroom supplies
- Support floor care and periodic deep-cleaning tasks
- Assist with light building-support tasks under direction of the Facility Manager
- Replace HVAC filters
- Replace light bulbs and ceiling tiles
- Assist with minor plumbing and minor electrical repairs within skill level
- Report maintenance needs, safety issues, and site concerns promptly
- Help support general building readiness and presentation
Qualifications
- Experience in commercial janitorial, custodial, building support, or light maintenance work preferred
- Strong reliability, attendance, and follow-through
- Able to perform physical work and lift tools, supplies, and materials as needed
- Comfortable working in a secure, highly professional setting
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and routine building upkeep preferred
- Able to work independently and follow direction well
Security / Background Requirements
This position is based at an FBI-occupied facility. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the required federal background review and site-access process.
Candidates must be able to complete the required federal screening documentation and meet site-access standards for a security-sensitive environment.
