Job DescriptionServing with Compassion, Creativity, and Consistency. $23.50-24.50 an hourCovering offices in: Penfield, Geneva, Lyons, Seneca, and Hammondsport.3+ years' experience in 3 or more maintenance trades: electrical, plumbing, construction, HVAC, and mechanics required Position Summary: The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the maintenance and care of all buildings and grounds. They perform everyday maintenance tasks and preventative maintenance duties that maintain a safe environment for the children and staff. Responsibilities:Perform general carpentry, electrical, and plumbing tasksPerform drywall repair and replacement, and paintingCheck functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm) and ensure fire safety standards are metCheck control panels and electrical wiring to identify issuesInstall appliances and equipmentPerform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc.Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbsDo garden/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash etc., occasionally, as neededSnow removal plowing and shoveling, occasionally, as neededPerform cleaning activities as neededInspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation)Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovationsComplete reports and documentation that are required in a timely manner.Take initiative in observing and notifying the Maintenance Supervisor and Director of Facility Operations of maintenance problems or areas requiring attention, repair, replacement, servicing, etc.Communication: Maintain responsive professional communication within the agency and with community contacts and vendors.RequirementsEducation:High School Diploma / GED requiredExperience:3+ years' experience in 3 or more maintenance trades: electrical, plumbing, constructions, HVAC, or mechanics requiredExcellent verbal and written communication, problem solving and organizational skills are requiredSome working knowledge of computers requiredDriver's License and ability to maintain insurability throughout employment required BenefitsBenefits available to all staff:Student Loan and Tuition ReimbursementEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee Discounts at the Southern Tier Community CenterOpportunities for Professional DevelopmentFull Time Benefits:Agency-Paid CEUs, License Prep Course, and License Exam403(b) with 6% employer contributionPTO plus 9 paid holidaysChildcare ReimbursementHealth, Dental, and Vision Insurance (with HSA/FSA Accounts)Life InsuranceEEO Statement: Children's Home is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
