Senior Project Manager (IT) – Hybrid (Boston, MA)
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Duration: 12 Months
Work Schedule: 40 hours/week
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale, complex technology initiatives. This role requires a strategic yet hands-on professional who can manage cross-functional teams, align stakeholders, and drive projects to successful completion within scope, timeline, and budget.
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, brings strong leadership and communication skills, and has a proven ability to manage enterprise-level IT programs.
Note: This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days onsite in Boston. Please confirm your availability and willingness to commute.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Leadership & Execution (40%)
- Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple complex IT projects
- Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource strategies
- Manage risks, dependencies, and ensure successful execution
- Ensure alignment with business and technology objectives
2. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication (20%)
- Act as the primary liaison between business, technical teams, and leadership
- Drive clear communication on project status, risks, and milestones
- Present updates to senior stakeholders and governance forums
3. Team Leadership & Collaboration (15%)
- Lead cross-functional teams and external vendors
- Define roles, responsibilities, and drive accountability
- Foster collaboration and problem-solving culture
4. Monitoring, Reporting & Financial Oversight (25%)
- Track project performance, risks, and financials
- Prepare status reports and dashboards
- Ensure budget adherence and identify optimization opportunities
- Conduct post-project reviews and document learnings
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business, or related field
- PMP / Agile / PRINCE2 certification preferred
Experience:
- 8–10 years of IT Project Management experience
- Proven experience managing large-scale, enterprise IT projects
- Strong background in CRM, ERP, cloud, data integration, or infrastructure projects
- Experience working with executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated success in managing organizational change and transformation initiatives
Skills & Tools
- Expertise in Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid methodologies
- Strong experience with tools like MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, or ServiceNow
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to manage competing priorities in dynamic environments
