Global hospitality company is looking for a DBA II in South Florida!
Experience Required:
- Experience managing SQL Server (performance tuning, backup/restore, security)
- Experience managing AlwaysOn clusters, deploying and supporting jobs using SSIS packages, and managing SSRS
- Experience working with users and interdisciplinary teams
- Projects you will be responsible for:
- Support of Production and Test environments across multiple locations
Qualifications
- STEM Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required
- 3-5+ years of technical database administration experience
- 3-5+ years of experience in an IT organization
- Requires understanding of logical design / physical implementation
- Requires knowledge of enterprise hardware / operations systems
Technical Skills:
- Uses SSMS to monitor jobs, view history, set job notifications, set operators, enable and set Database Mail up
- Proficient using T-SQL
- Experience using SSMS to monitor access to the server and database
- Experience using SSMS to monitor the database server performance
- Locking
- CPU time
- Wait types
- Physical reads and logical reads and writes
- Sessions and requests
- Experience using SSMS and T-SQL to verify availability
- Database states and user access options
- Experience operating and configuring SQL Server services
- Understands Windows Clustering
- Knows T-SQL to troubleshoot errors
- Knows SSIS to troubleshoot errors
- Responds promptly to events
- Knows how to use SSMS and T-SQL to create logins and users, and to grant permissions
- Understands SQL Server security architecture
- Knows how to use SSMS and T-SQL to create and modify databases
- Understands application needs before implementing the database
- Familiar with Best Practices for database file structure, security, etc.
- Familiar with pre-installation, installation and post-installation steps
- Familiar with Best Practices as far as systems databases, security, etc.
- Experience using SSMS and T-SQL to run backups and recoveries
- Hands-on knowledge of Oracle Database is desirable but not critical. Version 11g and up.
- Understands how to connect
- Oracle database architecture
- Oracle RAC is desirable
- Restore the database
- Understanding of RMAN desirable
- Hands-on knowledge of UNIX and/or Linux bash shell preferred
- Hands-on knowledge of NoSQL preferred
