Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining and repairing equipment in an industrial plastic conduit manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Technician diagnoses and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues, performs preventive maintenance on a variety of machinery, and keeps extrusion lines running smoothly to support consistent, high-quality production.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting and repair on industrial machinery, with a primary focus on plastic extrusion lines used for bending, heating, and cooling plastic conduit.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime and maintain smooth production.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on a variety of machines and equipment to improve reliability and extend equipment life.
  • Work with electrical systems including 480V and 3-phase motors, following appropriate safety procedures and best practices.
  • Inspect machinery regularly to identify potential problems and recommend corrective actions before failures occur.
  • Support production teams by responding promptly to maintenance requests and communicating repair status and timelines.
  • Use tools and testing equipment to troubleshoot and repair systems, including basic PLC-related issues where applicable.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately to support planning and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance and production staff to improve equipment performance and reduce recurring issues.
  • Work safely in a non-climate-controlled industrial facility, following all safety guidelines and maintaining a clean, orderly work area.
  • Adapt to a rotating 2-2-3 schedule, including regular weekend shifts, to provide consistent maintenance coverage for 24/7 operations.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, including troubleshooting and repair of related systems.
  • Hands-on electrical troubleshooting experience, including work with 480V systems and 3-phase motors.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical issues on production machinery.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance on a variety of industrial machines and equipment.
  • Capability to work safely and effectively in a non-climate-controlled industrial facility.
  • Willingness and ability to work a rotating 2-2-3 schedule, including regular weekend shifts.
  • Solid understanding of maintenance safety practices and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to equipment issues in a production setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Maintenance experience in plastic manufacturing or extrusion environments.
  • High-voltage electrical experience beyond standard industrial power systems.
  • PLC experience, including basic PLC troubleshooting to support equipment diagnostics.
  • Strong general electrical, mechanical, and repair skills across a range of industrial equipment.
  • Ability to collaborate with production and maintenance teams and communicate clearly about equipment status and needs.

Work Environment

The role is based in an indoor industrial plastics manufacturing plant that operates as a non-climate-controlled facility. Team members work around extrusion lines and other heavy industrial equipment in a fast-paced production environment. The position follows a 2-2-3 rotating schedule, with one month on days and two months on nights, typically working 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on assigned day shifts and corresponding hours on night shifts. The setting requires adherence to industrial safety standards and appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing plant.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oklahoma City, OK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
