We are looking for an experienced Software Administrator to support a large-scale State Government technology modernization initiative.

📍 Location: Chicago, IL – Primarily Remote
\n
🏢 Onsite: Approximately 40 days annually
\n
📅 Type: Full-Time / Contract

🔹 Key Responsibilities
\n
• Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain enterprise software platforms
\n
• Administer environments across Unix, Linux, and Windows
\n
• Support Development, Testing, UAT, and Production environments
\n
• Manage application deployments, releases, and environment readiness
\n
• Troubleshoot software and application platform issues
\n
• Support change management, incident response, and root cause analysis
\n
• Monitor system performance, availability, and operational health
\n
• Maintain technical documentation, standards, and procedures
\n
• Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and support teams
\n
• Support security, compliance, and operational governance requirements
\n
\n
🔹 Required Skills
\n
✅ 5+ years of Software/System Administration experience
\n
✅ Strong experience with Unix/Linux/Windows environments
\n
✅ Enterprise or government technology experience
\n
✅ Software installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades
\n
✅ Application deployment and environment management
\n
✅ Development, Testing, UAT & Production support
\n
✅ Change and release management experience
\n
✅ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
\n
\n
⭐ Preferred
\n
• Previous State Government client/project experience – Required
\n
• Public sector consulting experience
\n
• Healthcare, Medicaid, or Human Services experience
\n
• Middleware administration
\n
• DevOps / automation
\n
• PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting
\n
• ITIL / service management
\n
• Enterprise monitoring tools
\n
• Large-scale technology modernization experience
\n
