Java Engineer – Equities Algorithmic Trading / Smart Order Routing

I’m looking for a Java Engineer with extensive experience building equities algorithmic trading and smart order routing (SOR) systems.
\n
\n
This requires hands-on engineering experience across the equities electronic execution lifecycle, with a strong understanding of how orders are managed, routed and executed across trading venues.
\n
\n
Key experience:
\n

- Strong Java development skills, including concurrency, JVM performance tuning and low-latency optimisation.
- Extensive experience developing equities execution algorithms and smart order routers.
- Deep understanding of market microstructure, liquidity fragmentation, venue selection and order types.
- Experience with FIX connectivity, exchange protocols, market data and order management.
- Ability to work closely with traders and quants to translate execution requirements into reliable production systems.
- Experience diagnosing latency, throughput and execution issues in live trading environments.

Particularly relevant backgrounds include VWAP, TWAP, POV, implementation shortfall and liquidity-seeking algorithms, alongside routing logic and execution performance analysis.

Direct experience engineering algo trading and SOR platforms is essential.
