Lead Industrial Maintenance & Automation Technician
Job Description
Job DescriptionA Day in the Life
You start your shift by huddling with the maintenance crew, aligning on priorities and safety. A production line has flagged an intermittent fault—your first stop is the control cabinet to trace signals, check PLC I/O, and isolate the issue. By mid-morning, you’re under a press inspecting hydraulics and pneumatics, swapping a worn cylinder seal, and verifying bearings and motor alignment. After lunch, you’re conducting scheduled inspections, documenting every finding, and coordinating with operations to plan a quick changeover while maintaining safety compliance. Before you wrap, you review open work orders, jump on a rapid-response call for a downed motor, and leave the area clean and orderly for the next shift.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the maintenance team through complex mechanical and electrical repairs, setting priorities and ensuring safe work practices.
- Service and troubleshoot industrial systems: hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, cylinders, bearings, control cabinets, PLCs, and related automation.
- Execute routine preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on production equipment and facility machinery.
- Conduct thorough inspections to surface issues early and verify adherence to safety standards and regulations.
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests and unplanned downtime events.
- Keep precise records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Collaborate across departments to streamline processes and boost equipment efficiency.
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
- Maintain an organized, clean workspace at all times.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
- Proven background as a maintenance technician or equivalent role.
- Solid understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Hands-on skill diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues.
- Sharp problem-solving ability and strong attention to detail.
- Clear communicator and dependable team player.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as needed.
